1. Foodsavers: fighting food waste

Foodsavers saves valuable food from the waste bin and gives fruits and vegetables to those who truly need it. How? Efficient systems in Flemish Brabant and West Flanders, working together with local partners.

2. Nojavel!: healthy food packages

Nojavel! recycles 250 tonnes of unsold organic products each year and distributes them to those who need them most. Each month, Nojavel! affords more than 1,000 households access to healthy food packages.

3. Boerennatuur: a safe haven for partridges

The continued existence of the partridge is threatened. That is why Boerennatuur Flanders works together with farmers to provide food, nesting sites and shelter for these countryside birds.

4. Regenacterre: healthier agricultural soil

Regenacterre supports farmers in their pursuit of greater biodiversity through regenerative farming. Analysing soil and supporting farmers with advice spreads knowledge about this topic and helps to create healthier soil.

5. GoodPlanet: food forests at schools

GoodPlanet sends Belgian schools everything they need to plant and maintain food forests. Children learn how to grow their own food and about the importance of healthy soil, biodiversity, and nutritious food.

6. Enchanté: nutritious school lunch for teenagers

Providing young people with a nutritious school lunch is the focus of Enchanté. The non-profit creates networks of schools, individuals and companies to help ensure that as many teenagers as possible can enjoy a nutritious school lunch.

7. Empower young people through debating

A debating workshop is held in classrooms to teach young people how to express their thoughts clearly. This helps boost their self-confidence.

8. Give teenagers the chance to take control of their own lives

Young people take part in group workshops that help them to develop self-confidence and take control of their own lives.

9. Give youngsters an educational summer

Through educational activities in July and August, youngsters can start the new school year fully prepared.

Projects that have achieved their goal

1. Boost language and self-confidence in young people

In this weekly programme, young people strengthen their verbal skills and enhance their self-confidence. With this added encouragement, Debateville helps them on their way to achieving their maximum potential.

2. Give school dropouts a new direction in life

Odyssée proactively engages with school dropouts and helps them in returning to school or enrolling in some kind of training.

3. Help the black stork population recover

The most unique resident of the Saint-Michelbos is the emblematic black stork. By making sure the woods are a suitable home for the bird, Nassonia also helps a lot of other species of animals.

4. Plant a tree in the Brussels region

Want to help improve quality of life in and around Brussels? Your donation to Bûûmplanters helps schools, residential care centres and other organisations plant bushes, hedges, and trees in their outdoor areas.

5. Create plant diversity where it’s needed most

BeeOdiversity monitors the presence and quality of plant species in Belgium and plants flower meadows and hedges in places in need of greater biodiversity.

6. Teach children to be young forest managers

Children learn how to best care for the Tiny Forest next to their schools. As young forest managers, they take responsibility for simple maintenance tasks.

7. Help students become nature detectives in flower meadows

Students set out on an investigation in the heart-shaped flower meadow in their neighbourhood and learn how to care for it.

Do you love bees? The ‘A heart for bees’ initiative help develop perennial mini flower meadows that all pollinators love: one with dozens of different native flowers and herbs.

9. Invest in a Tiny Forest

Tiny Forests are hotspots of biodiversity in urban areas. They better equip the city to deal with climate change, are a safe haven for all kinds of different animals and reduce stress.
